Insider Tips and New Releases!!
Welcome back, everyone! We have some major industry news in the works, as well as a bounty full of new releases slated to hit our shelves this week.
BREAKING NEWS: Cigar City Brewing Hitting our Shelves This February!
After years of dominating the beer scene in Florida and many southern states, Tampa, Florida's Cigar City Brewing recently announced that they will be beginning distribution to the Chicago market this February. Best known for their "Jai Alai IPA" and "Hunaphu's Imperial Stout," Cigar City sits in the upper-echelon of American craft breweries in terms of overall popularity. The brewery's arrival to the Chicago market has been long-awaited. From my personal perspective, I have many customers who travel down to Tampa annually in hopes of snagging a few bottles of one of the brewery's limited beers. As with all other breweries that we work with, we plan on being THE destination for all Cigar City limited releases and special events. With a tentative release date of February 19th, expect to see beers from this highly-touted brewery on our shelves in mid-to-late February. We are currently planning a release day event to celebrate the arrival of this excellent brewery with our eager customers with a possible sampling in the works. Stay tuned!
New Releases:
Noon Whistle Gummy Vortex NEIPA
Brewed in nearby Lombard, Noon Whistle has continued to win over Chicago area beer drinkers with their "Gummy" hazy IPA series. This week, we received a shipment of the brewery's latest release: "Gummy Vortex." This Northeast Style IPA is sure to pack a punch of hops (Simcoe and Citra to be geeky). Based on our history with other Noon Whistle hazy IPAs, our inventory will be ravaged by our thirsty customers in very short order. Hurry in and snag one of these guys before it's too late!
Marz Community Brewing Bubbly Kriek
Perhaps January isn't the best time for a fizzy and sour cherry beer. Or, perhaps you are wrong for thinking that....
Anyways, Marz brewing is back at it this week with "Bubbly Kriek," a Berliner Weiss brewed with cherries. This beer is full of tart cherry goodness and has the color of fresh brewed sweet tea. This may make you think that this beer is best suited for a hot day on the beach. Well, you are wrong and should think again.
Revolution Straight Jacket
Our pals over at Revolution Brewing never stop, literally. These folks have been on fire all season with their "Deep Woods Series" of barrel-aged stouts. Switching gears ever-so-slightly, the brewery has now released this year's batch of its award-winning (2014 FOBAB) "Straight Jacket" Barleywine. This kickass beer spends a full year in bourbon barrels before being canned and shipped to your mouth. Look for this boozy 4-pack (13.1% ABV) on our shelves for a limited time this week.
Breckenridge Rum Barrel-Aged Vanilla Porter
Brewed to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Colorado's famed Breckenridge Brewery, this beer is basically the brewery's flagship Vanilla Porter on Sammy Sosa levels of steroids! To be clear, this beer does not contain any performance-enhancing drugs. It does, however, boast a kickass ABV over 10%. Look for this boozy contraption on our shelves this week!
LaGrow Brewing Co.
In an era of health-awareness, many of our customers have sought "cleaner" and more "naturally-brewed" beers. Enter: LaGrow Brewing of Chicago. LaGrow, which is owned and operated by brothers, is Chicago's first 100% USDA organic brewery. The brothers pride themselves on being a true farm-to-table operation. Their beers, which include a flavorful Citra pale ale and IPA, are brewed with 100% organic hops hailing from Carr Creek Farms in Michigan. We are proud to be the only liquor store in our area to carry this unique beer. Look for it on our shelves this week.

Pipeworks has been making kick ass IPAs for years now. This week, the good fellas at PDubs released their latest IPA, "Wongo Mongo," which is hopped with Cryo-Mosaic and Galaxy hops. This hoppy potion will be in stock later this week.
