New Beers Arriving This Week!!

Welcome back everyone. It's been a little while since my last post, and I apologize for the delay. Besides our obvious name change, I have also been pre-occupied with several large projects related to Joe's Beverage Warehouse, including some exciting new collaborations on the horizon (shhhh...it's still a secret). In any event, I am back and better than ever, sitting in front of my cheap laptop to tell you about some new beers that will be hitting our shelves this week!


Cigar City: "White Oak Jai Alai"

A few months back, Cigar City Brewing of Tampa, FL made our hearts flutter when they began distributing in Chicagoland. Now that the brewery has installed its mainstay lineup into our repertoire, it's time to spice things up a bit. Enter: "White Oak Jai Alai." This sophisticated spin on the brewery's flagship IPA involves an addition of white oak spirals into its brewing process, which leads to a finished product that has unmistakable hints of vanilla, coconut and overall warmth. Overall, this beer is like taking the naturally beautiful Jai Alai and dressing it up and putting makeup and lipstick on it, leading to an even more attractive iteration of this national treasure of an IPA. Although we will be receiving a sizable quantity of this beer, it probably won't last long. Arriving this Friday, White Oak Jai Alai is likely to be sold out within a few days. Don't let this pretty girl be the one that got away!


Founders "Barrel Runner"

The natural successor in Founders Barrel-Aged Series, "Barrel Runner" is slated to hit our shelves this Friday (7/13). This Rum Barrel-Aged IPA weighs in at 11.1% ABV and provides an oaky-vanilla punch to the monotonous IPA that you've grown accustomed to. Stop by this Friday and sink your lips into one!

Hop Butcher: So Much Good Stuff....

  

For years, customers like you have requested that we carry beers from Hop Butcher. After waiting patiently for the brewery to grow its brewing output, we finally have lots and lots of their beers in stock. This week, we will be receiving 3 freshly brewed and canned beers from the brewery:

•  "Lemony Fresh" a lemon-drop and centennial-hopped pale ale
• "Vacation Mode" a Wakatu-Hopped Witbier 
• "Telehopic" a Denali, Mosaic and Columbus-hopped Double IPA that is hazier than your mom would prescribe. 

Brickstone: Haz'd Juice- Hazy IPA

Brickstone brewing of Bourbonnais is the latest of several local breweries to join the "Haze Craze" that is pushing aside the traditional IPAs that we have known and loved for the better part of the past decade. This week, we are scheduled to receive "Haz'd Juice" a hazy and juicy "New-England" Style IPA. This beer is the first release of the brewery's all-new "Haz'd Up" series, which promises more cloudy beverages in the future. Brewed with a bevy of hops, including Mosaic, Citra and Huell Melon, this brewski will knock your figurative socks off! Stop by and stick your tongue in one this weekend!

Sketchbook: Kinetic Elderberry Gose

It's summer time, which means that it is too damn hot for a stout or porter! Rather than drown your taste buds in a velvety stout, grab a tart and refreshing gose. More specfically, Sketchbook Brewing of Evanston wants you to grab a Kinetic Elderberry Gose. This beer, which is one of several brews in Sketchbook's "Kinetic" series, is brewed with Elderberry and rock salt, which leads to a uniquely sour and satisfying flavor profile that is perfect on a hot summer day. Look for this bad boy on our shelves this weekend while you prep for that BBQ or trip to the beach. 

On The Horizon...

The following beers will be arriving later this July, but their dates of arrival are not yet known...

  

Short Fuse: "Bear-ie White" 

This beer is so new that its label is not even on the brewery's website (or Google) yet. Nevertheless, Short Fuse Brewing of Schiller Park will be canning and subsequently distributing this Pale Wheat Ale that is brewed with actual freaking gummy bears this month. Once it is available, this beer will be a can't-miss six pack. Stay tuned for an update on our Facebook page for an arrival date.

Bold Dog Brewing Co.

As an obsessive beer enthusiast who most certainly does not have a drinking problem, I often find myself digging through user-driven apps like Untappd and Beer Menus in search of breweries that we do not currently carry. This month, I reached out to Bold Dog Brewery of Chicago. This brewery, which is ran by husband and wife, boasts a small but mighty selection of beers, including "Tilly" a hefeweizen brewed with mango, papaya and cascade hops. We recently touched base with this brewery and will be carrying their beers later this month. We are all about local/family businesses and are thrilled to support this brewery's dream to spread its beers throughout the Chicagoland area.
