NEW RELEASES!!

Welcome back fellow beer enthusiasts. We have a star-studded array of new beers slated to hit our shelves this week at Cardinal Liquor Depot Joliet!

Surly Barrel-Aged Darkness
Regarded as one of the best in the barrel-aged stout game, Surly BA Darkness will hit our shelves this week! This year's rendition, which is aged in rye whiskey barrels is 12% ABV and will be sold in wax-topped 750ml bottles. Look for it on our shelves this Friday 2/23.

Toppling Goliath Double Dry-Hopped Pseudo Sue
Dry hopping has been all the rage over the past few months. We've seen numerous breweries bring new excitement to their flagship beers by dry hopping them (Goose Island Dry Hopped 312, Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter, etc.) Now comes DDH Pseudo Sue, a fresh take on an institution of a beer brewed proudly in Decorah, Iowa. Look for this hoppy elixir on our shelves later this week in single 22oz "bombers."

Marz "Golden Boy" White Chocolate Pretzel White Stout
Marz continues to push the envelope this week with another innovative, sort of "hybrid" beer. "Golden Boy," a white stout brewed with white chocolate, pretzels and cacao nibs, easily takes the cake.....or pretzel (dad joke of the week) for the most interesting beer hitting our store this week. What makes this brew so interesting, other than the fact that it has two types of chocolate and pretzels in it, is that it maintains a solid hoppy base beneath all of the sweetness of its creamy chocolate flavor profile. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself this week!

Pipeworks "Panther Like a Panther"
Pipeworks has collaborated again, and this time they're bringing us something that's barrel-aged.....well, sort of. Panther like a Panther, brewed in collaboration with NY's Interboro Spirits and Ales, as well as hip hop group "Run the Jewels," is a porter that is blended with barrel-aged beers. Specifically, all three parties are blending their own recipes with each other, with Pipeworks contributing its own barrel aged porter to combine with Interboro's traditional stout and is finally infused with a coffee stout brewed with Miami's "Panther Coffee." Look for this masterpiece on our shelves this week.

Illuminated Cafe Illuminae Stout and Yownt Sour DIPA
The folks at Chicago's Illuminated Brew Works never stop pushing the envelope. Whether it be through creating labels or using names that mimic the brands (See: Robitussin), flavors (see: Zebra Gum) and even celebrities (See "Tim") that we know and deplore, Illuminated never stops finding creative ways to brand their excellent beers. This week, the brewery is set to release "Cafe Illuminae" stout and "Yownt" Sour double IPA.
Cafe Illuminae is a variant of the brewery's deliciously controversial "War on Xmas" white milk stout that we had during the holiday season. This time around, the recipe has been tweaked with fresh roasted coffee, giving it a darker color and, more importantly, thick robust flavor.
Further, Yownt sour DIPA is a puckeringly-refreshing hop monster brewed with kiwi and pomegranates. The hybridization of hoppiness and sourness that this beer lends is nothing short of unique.
Look for Yownt and Cafe Illuminae on our shelves this weekend!
